Born of the legendary imagination that brought us Spider-Man, The Avengers, The X-Men, and an enduring universe of marvelous heroes and villains, Stan Lee's The Devil's Quintet return to take on a fiendish new adversary: The Shadow Society.

Ever since The Armageddon Code, the Devil's Quintet have been using their demonic powers to fight evil and protect the world, while remaining nothing but an urban legend to the general public. But the Devil is not about to let them keep using his powers for good.

Created by Satan himself to counter the Quintet, the Shadow Society are five saintly men and women that have been secretly (and strategically) possessed by five of Hell's most powerful demons. Granted supernatural powers of their own, they are part of a literally diabolical plot to strike at the very heart of the Quintet—and destroy humanity's last hope!

There's more of Jay Bonansinga than Stan Lee in this story of five special operations agents who make a deal with the devil to escape torture. Both writers owe a huge debt to Charles Everett for narrating this powerful audiobook. Without flashy sound effects, Everett expertly leads listeners through this story about a disparate group of warriors who use the devil himself to do good. With all due respect to the late Stan Lee, the sophisticated dialogue and writing in this work clearly come from Bonansinga. The heroes are given powers that are extensions of their own natural abilities--leadership, physical prowess, and strength--to bring down a despot armed with powerful weapons. Riveting. M.S. Narrator Charles Everett knows how to combine Stan Lee's sense of comic-book action with true horror in the latest in the Lee-inspired series featuring five soldiers of fortune who sold their souls to the devil in exchange for superpowers. But the devil believes the group is not living up to their part of the bargain--to hunt down and kill others who have reneged--and he has sent his own group of living-dead monsters to hunt the quintet down. The audiobook is a lot of Vin Diesel-type tough talk, which suits Everett's style. He even does a nice job giving voice to the two female members of the quintet, including the one who has just given birth to a devil-fighting baby. It's all pretty light fare--but fast and furious.
