Gr 7-10-Tired of always being overshadowed by her werewolf brothers, Clawdeen Wolf joined some of her fellow monsters (RADS) in filming Ghoul Next Door, a video all about their kind. When the video goes viral, however, everyone's faces are visible. Forced into hiding like the others, Clawdeen and her family are able to escape to her family's wolf hideout/bed and breakfast. When her friend Lala comes to stay with them, she wants to spend all of her time with Claude, Clawdeen's brother. Longing for normalcy, Clawdeen is determined to make her "Sassy Sixteen" party happen. She enlists the help of Pro-RAD humans (Normie), Melody and Candace Carver, as well as RAD, Chloe. Tensions heat up and Anti-RAD protests cause trouble. Will Clawdeen and her friends pull off the party? Will the RADS return to their normal lives? Liz Morton does a good job of bringing the latest title (2011) in Lisi Harrison's series to life. The unique personalities and backgrounds of the characters are well-represented by her intonations and narrative style. The author's excellent blending of realism and the paranormal is complemented by the narration. Fans of Monster High (2010) and Monster High 2: Ghoul Next Door (2011, all Little, Brown) will enjoy this title.-Kira Moody, Whitmore Public Library, Salt Lake City, UT
