Sophie London, founder of a support group for large people and owner and star of an online adult web site, shoots herself in front of her audience. As her friend and the executor of Sophie's will, plus-sized, middle-aged paralegal Odelia Grey comes to believe that Sophie's suicide is not as cut-and-dried as it first appeared. Though much respected and liked, Sophie had a checkered past, and too many things are not adding up. Balancing her professional skills as a paralegal with her self-doubt as a sleuth, Odelia is one of the most believable amateur detectives in recent fiction. Beautifully plotted and carefully crafted, this is a marvelous start to an exciting new series. Strongly recommended. Jaffarian lives in southern California.
