A fun fake dating, enemies to lovers romantic comedy set in New York City from USA Today bestselling author Tracy Goodwin.

Jilted socialite teams up with bad boy billionaire: Game on!

Wedding planner Cassandra Benedict sells happily-ever-afters for a living. But when Cassie gets stood up at her own wedding, the whole humiliating experience is witnessed by the crème-de-la crème of New York's elite. Cassie comes from a wealthy family, but she built her business through hard work, and now she feels like a fool. She's walking down the road in her ruined dress carrying her beagle decked out in his brides man tutu, when who should offer her a ride but her ex-college boyfriend, Andrew Steele. Just great.

Andrew's journey has been very different. Coming from nothing, Andrew grew up watching the "haves" duke it out in the Hamptons, so he learned and evolved. Now he's New York's hottest celebrity billionaire and darling of the paparazzi, which Cassie despises. But Andrew proposes a mutually beneficial fake relationship that could save her pride and her business. Their sizzling chemistry notwithstanding, bad boy Andrew Steele definitely has the game to pull it off—but is he savvy enough not to fall in love?

Wedding planner and social media darling Cassandra Benedict is about to be stood up at the altar when her knight in shining armor appears--in the form of her ex-boyfriend Andrew Steele, the billionaire bad-boy owner of the gossip site The Steele Dailies. Thinking of how to save both her heart and her brand, Cassie jumps in Andrew's car and lets him craft the narrative. Posting stories and creating a fake relationship with just a few perfectly timed posts might help save Cassie and her business, but her heart finds itself getting helplessly lost. Is this narrative for her mother, her ex-fianc, and her fans, or is this her second shot at the one who got away? She'll have to decide if she can forgive Andrew for breaking her heart years ago, now that he's rescued her. Goodwin (With Neighbors Like This) writes a modern-day love story with a hint of sass and social media savvy. New York high society provides a fertile setting of infighting and intrigue, and the laser-sharp brand focus welcomes readers to life behind the social media headlines. VERDICT Prepare to fall for the swoon-worthy Steele and his perfect catch.--Judy Garner

Goodwin (Ice Storm) gleefully combines tropes in this charming rom-com. Wedding planner Cassie Benedict is jilted at the altar by her fiancé, Jeremy Roth, in front of a who’s who of New York City high society. She grabs her beagle, Bailey, and rushes from Jeremy’s family’s Hamptons mansion in her custom wedding dress. With nowhere to go, she wanders the side of the road, stewing on her heartbreak and how unlikely it is that any of New York’s elite will trust her with their own weddings ever again. It’s a mortifying moment to reunite with her ex-boyfriend, “billionaire bad boy” Andrew Steele. He rescues her from the road and proposes a plan to save her business—a fake engagement to him. Though their relationship ended in disaster, they hope their shared history will make the ruse believable—but they’re not counting on their hearts getting involved. As their chemistry reignites, however, Jeremy reenters the picture determined to cause trouble. Bailey and Andrew will easily win over readers, and the colorful supporting cast, including Cassie’s narcissistic mother, a soap opera star, adds to the fun. In contrast, Jeremy proves a disappointingly one-dimensional villain, and it’s difficult to understand what Cassie ever saw in him. This hampers the plot only slightly, however, as there’s much fun to be had in the second-chance, fake-dating shenanigans. Readers will enjoy themselves.
