Casper, former military spec ops helicopter pilot, felt the responsibility of the crash on his shoulders, considering he hadn't completed the pre-flight checklist before taking off earlier. Kristin, usually the one performing the search-and-rescue missions, is not one who copes well under pressure when she herself needs to be rescued. What began as quick and simple banter between the two turns into a deeper, more intense connection, especially after they realize the helicopter had been sabotaged and was doomed to fail. Staying alive while figuring out the deception is only part of the suspense in this slow-burn romance from Winters (Montana Wilderness Pursuit).
